Amid the turmoil of May 1940, the tranquil calm of a small village in Pas-de-Calais, France, shatters as the ominous growl of German troops seeps into its peaceful corners. The terrified villagers, under the guidance of Paul, their steadfast mayor, abandon their homes and their lives, embarking on a harrowing journey towards the coast. Bonded by their shared circumstances, they navigate the treacherous landscape, driven by their individual quests - Hans to reunite with his son, and Percy to reach the sea and find passage back to England.
