Plot

In the heart of a bustling city, Karitas tirelessly battles life's adversities as a single mother of four, waging an unyielding struggle against her ex-husband for the custody of their three daughters. Unbeknownst to her, her twelve-year-old son Gudmund is ensnared in a vicious cycle of relentless bullying at school, his existence spiralling rapidly towards chaos. His only beacon of solace in this tumultuous world is Marinó, a middle-aged schizophrenic residing with his mother in the same apartment complex. But when Marinó uncovers his mother's clandestine liaison with a mysterious stranger, his grip on reality begins to slip away, further muddying the waters of his troubled existence. Simultaneously, Gardar, an enforcer in the seedy underworld, leaves a trail of chaos in his professional life, leading to his twin brother Georg's brutal assault. Cast aside by both his criminal associates and his family, Gardar is left to chart a new course in life. Drawn to the son he has never known, Gudmund, he embarks on a journey towards redemption. However, he soon discovers that the path to righteousness is fraught with challenges. "Children" is an intricate tapestry of interconnected lives, each grappling with their own private battles. It's a poignant exploration of humanity's resilience in the face of adversity and the relentless pursuit of redemption amidst a world steeped in turmoil.
