Plot

In the whirlwind comedy of Carpool (1996), a dutiful father, bound for an essential business meeting, grudgingly finds himself at the helm of the neighborhood's school carpool when his wife unexpectedly falls ill. A morning detour for the children's beloved donuts transforms into a chaotic twist of fate as he becomes the unsuspecting victim of a store robbery. The chaos doesn't end there - an embattled man, on the brink of executing his own bank heist, outwits the initial crooks and commandeers the father's van, turning the man and his youthful passengers into unexpected hostages. But when his escape truck is thwarted by a fortuitous armored car, the stage is set for a rollicking chase filled with humor and unexpected twists. As the journey unfolds, the father confronts an uncomfortable reality - his children, who have shown him scant respect, seem to connect more with their inadvertent captor. The outcome? A profound shift in lifestyle for everyone involved, extending even to the donut shop owner ensnared in the original theft. This movie is a comedic testament to the unpredictability of life and the transformative power of unexpected alliances.
