Mad Money (2008)

Life's comfortable cocoon unravels for Don and Bridget Cardigan when Don loses his job and their upper-middle-class existence threatens to implode under a crushing $300,000 debt. Bridget, a lifelong housewife, is pushed into the workforce to salvage their sinking ship. She lands a job as a janitor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, a world far removed from her previous high-class lifestyle. Bridget soon discovers the bank's intriguing secret: old, worn-out money being shredded and discarded. It's a sight that triggers a daring plan in her mind, a plan that could restore her old lifestyle and wipe out their debts. The only obstacles? A standard lock on the money carts and a garbage system that nobody checks. Bridget's plan requires collaboration from two key players: Nina Brewster, a single mom desperate to provide a better future for her bright sons, and Jackie Truman, a music-loving diabetic living in a trailer. As the stakes rise, Bridget's obsession with the money grows, threatening to derail the priorities of her accomplices.
