Bobby (1973)

In the heart of India's opulence, dwells Mr. Nath, a man of great wealth, his wife, Sushma, and their 6-year-old son, Raj. Amidst the whirlwind of their prosperous lives, they leave Raj in the care of their devoted maidservant, Mrs. Braganza, who fulfills the role of his mother. As Raj displays signs of precociousness, his father sends him to a distant boarding school, removing him from the familiar warmth of his surrogate mother. After a long separation of 12 years, Raj returns home to a virtually unchanged household, save for the absence of Mrs. Braganza, who has been dismissed by Sushma.
