Four stories taking place in the city of Rome typify the romantic and quasi-mystical attraction of the Italian metropolis. New Yorker Hayley falls in love with activist lawyer Michelangelo, but their marriage results in a strange relationship between family members. Antonio and Milly have just been married, but they find life in the big city is far different than the provinces they grew up in — and it comes with both opportunities and challenges. American architect James Foy is back in Rome for the first time in three decades and meets a literal past version of himself. Finally, Leopoldo finds his mundane life shaken when he's suddenly being treated like a celebrity by paparazzi.
