Battle of the Sexes (2017)

In 1973, the tennis match between talented women's world champion Billie Jean King and the extravagant men's world champion Bobby Riggs reflects the discussions the country was in engaging in over gender equality. The contest will quickly be framed as a battle of the sexes and an effective proxy for the women's liberation movement. The battle outside of the court will rage just as extravagantly as the tennis match itself, but Billie is coming to terms with her own discoveries. She struggles to come to terms with her romantic interest in women at a time when such relationships were considered taboo.
