In "Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Haunted By Murder", Aida Teagarden acquires the ostensibly haunted Enshaw house with aspirations to renovate and sell it, thereby dispelling the eerie tales surrounding it. The house, named after its original owner, Ezra Enshaw, is reputedly haunted by his spirit and was the site where Aida's daughter, Roe, and her friends Sally and Nick, made a chilling discovery twenty-two years ago. In the hidden basement, they stumbled upon the lifeless body of acclaimed ghost hunter, Frank Brunelli. His death was ruled accidental, a result of a fatal fall down the clandestine stairs. Yet, the haunting memory remains, particularly for Roe, who has always harbored suspicions that the circumstances of Frank's death were not as clear-cut as they seemed. Reluctantly joining Aida in the restoration project are Roe, Nick, and a hesitant Sally, still haunted by the memory of their teenage discovery and the suspicion of the house being truly haunted. The project attracts a motley crew of interested parties; from the local Paranormal Society, to Frank's brother seeking closure, to a local developer accusing Aida of deceitfully snatching the property from him. Adding to the ominous atmosphere, Ezra's elderly neighbor Mona, who has been acting peculiar since her husband's death following the discovery of Frank's body, and her daughter Tamara, further fuel the spectral speculation. As a threatening message seems to appear at the house, it becomes apparent that someone or something wants Aida gone. Ro, Nick, Sally, and Philip delve into the mystery, trying to discern whether the strange happenings are linked to Frank's death or if the house truly is haunted by Ezra. As they spend a night in the house, strange occurrences unfold, leading them to question if there is more truth to the haunting legend than they had initially thought.
