Plot

In the heart of the city, Dhananjay Mane resides as a sole tenant in the dwelling of the stern Vishwasrao Sarpotdar, a landlord who holds a strict rule of single tenancy. However, Dhananjay's world alters when his younger brother Shantanu unexpectedly arrives, seeking a place in his brother's humble abode. As if the house wasn't crowded enough, Dhananjay's two friends, Parshuram and Sudhir, also find their way to the same refuge, both in search of jobs and a roof over their heads. They sneak into the house, living secretly, under the radar of the strict landlord. One unfortunate night, under the influence of intoxicating spirits, the trio loses their grip on their tongues, hurling insults at their landlord. The dawn brings forth an ultimatum from Sarpotdar, demanding they leave his house at the earliest. With their backs against the wall, the quartet embark on a desperate quest to find a suitable haven. Their search leads them to the kind-hearted, yet peculiar, Leelabai Kalbhor, a lady who has a rather unusual condition for her tenants - they must be married couples. Left with no other options, Dhananjay convinces his comrades to weave a web of deception. Parshuram transforms into the demure 'Parvati', Dhananjay's wife, while Sudhir steps into the role of 'Sudha', Shantanu's better half. Thus begins their life of pretence, all in a bid to secure a place to live. "Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi" is a rollercoaster ride of chaotic hilarity and captivating twists, as four friends navigate the complex world of housing, friendship, and unexpected crossdressing.
