In the pulsating heart of modern-day Kolkata, formerly Calcutta, unfolds the compelling narrative of "Anuranan". We meet Rahul Chatterjee, an accomplished designer, who, with his wife Nandita, has traversed a heart-wrenching journey from the loss of their still-born baby in Bombay to the busy streets of Birmingham, England. However, fate has a different plan, and they find themselves returning to their native Kolkata on account of Rahul's ambitious project to redevelop Kanchenjunga in the Himalayas.
Amidst the dynamic rhythm of this bustling city, they cross paths with Amit Bannerjee, the agent who orchestrated the Kanchenjunga project, and his wife, Preeti. An unspoken resonance begins to hum as these two couples, each battling their own silent struggles, form a deep bond. Nandita finds solace in her new role as a Montessori school-teacher, while Amit embarks on a journey to London, leaving behind a trail of protests from the Himalayan Gurkha community wary of any ecological damage their beloved region might suffer.
