Plot

In the heart of New England, renowned black author and urbanite, Andrew Sterling, is mistaken for a thief when he buys a vacation home in a predominantly white resort. The local police, led by Chief Tolliver, surround his newfound haven with guns drawn, jumping to conclusions rather than verifying the identity of the supposed intruder. This misunderstanding takes a turn for the worse when Chief Tolliver, in a desperate attempt to sweep his monumental mistake under the rug and avoid a public relations nightmare, concocts a scheme involving Amos Odell, a white petty criminal languishing in his jail. Tolliver offers Amos a deal he can't refuse - to feign taking Andrew hostage and demand a ransom, only to release him unscathed and make a hasty escape. But as the plot thickens, Amos and Andrew quickly uncover the chilling truth – their supposed gunfight and demise would conveniently erase Tolliver's problems. Thrust into this precarious situation, the duo form the most unlikely and hilarious partnership in movie history. With the local law enforcement hot on their tails, they must outwit and outrun the police, navigating through a web of prejudice, deception, and unanticipated camaraderie. The tranquil New England resort transforms into a comedic battleground, as Amos and Andrew strive to survive, revealing the absurdity of racial stereotypes along the way.
