Plot

Aloys Adorn, a solitary middle-aged private detective, has constructed a fortress of isolation around himself with his video camera and the ceaseless collection of surveillance tapes he obsessively views. He experiences the world from a safe arm's length, his camera capturing the essence of life 24 hours a day while he watches from the confines of his home. After the death of his father, his stark existence teeters on the verge of collapse, leaving Aloys to navigate life alone. A night of drowning his sorrows leaves Aloys stranded on a public bus, his precious camera and surveillance tapes mysteriously vanished. This theft serves as a catalyst for the intrusion of a cryptic woman into his life. She reaches out to him, offering a tantalizing trade: his stolen tapes in exchange for his participation in an unusual mind game known as 'telephone walking', an obscure Japanese invention. Ensnared by her enigmatic voice and intrigued by the peculiar proposition, Aloys plunges into the game. He soon finds himself tethered to the other end of the line, exploring an imaginary universe that exists solely within their shared consciousness. As he delves deeper, he finds himself drawn to the captivating voice, sparking an unexpected affection. With each 'telephone walk', Aloys begins to question his solitary existence. The mysterious woman, his unseen guide, presents him with a new perspective, opening the doors to a world beyond his self-imposed isolation. In this new realm, Aloys finds the possibility of breaking free from his solitary shackles and venturing into the vibrant pulse of the real world. The film, 'Aloys', explores this transformative journey, weaving a narrative that blurs the lines between reality and imagination.
