In the wake of a heartrending stillbirth, Kasturi becomes the unsuspecting recipient of a newborn, switched by her mother-in-law and a cunning nurse with one of the twins born to the penniless Indira. The stolen child, christened Narsingh, blossoms into a captivating singer and dancer, ensnaring the heart of Anju, a DGP's daughter. Meanwhile, his fraternal twin, raised by the high-born Kasturi and Govind, finds his calling in performing sacred rituals at weddings and funerals, with his affections anchored to the enigmatic Chandrakala. When Narsingh is kidnapped by the ruthless gangster, Baba Bhai, turmoil ensues. The abductor's insatiable thirst for a guarded secret held by Narsingh's biological father, an esteemed Indian Army Major, sets the cat among the pigeons.
