Plot

In the offbeat comedy "Things Are Tough All Over" (1982), we follow the quirky exploits of Cheech and Chong, a duo whose lives take an unexpected turn from their humdrum existence as car wash attendants and struggling musicians. Lured by the promise of an easy gig, they find themselves enlisted to drive a limousine from the wind-swept city of Chicago to the neon-lit spectacle of Las Vegas. However, their employers, the enigmatic Mr. Slyman and Prince Habib - uncanny doppelgängers of our leads - are far from average businessmen. In a twist of fate or perhaps sheer mischief, these shady characters have stealthily concealed a fortune of five million dollars of dirty money, artfully tucked away in the limo's plush upholstery. Ignorant of their cargo and its implications, Cheech and Chong embark on a journey that's anything but ordinary. Their path winds through a series of comedic misadventures, including an unexpected detour into the risqué world of adult filmmaking, starring none other than 'The Guys' and their real-life love interests. As their journey unfolds, the duo remains blissfully oblivious to the ticking economic time bomb they're chauffeuring. "Things Are Tough All Over" is where the mundane meets the outrageous, taking its audience on a hilarious joyride. Buckle up as Cheech and Chong navigate the unpredictable roads of life, with the glitz of Las Vegas as their endgame, all the while unknowingly carrying a fortune that could change their lives forever - or land them in a world of trouble.
