A Yank In Libya (1942)

In the heat-laden sands of Libya, daring American correspondent, Mike Malone, stumbles upon a clandestine Nazi scheme to incite an uprising among the Arab tribes. Chased by the loyal men of Sheik David, an ally of the British, Mike seeks asylum in the elegant suite of Nancy Brooks, a secret agent for British Intelligence. In a desperate plea, he leaves a concealed weapon in her care and vanishes through a window into the night. Driven by a relentless thirst for truth, Mike briefs British Consul Herbert Forbes about his alarming discovery. Forbes, however, urges Mike to step back, revealing that the British are already privy to the plot and orchestrating a hushed counter-coup. Unfazed, Mike convinces Forbes to accompany him to Nancy's quarters, but they are met with her feigned ignorance of ever meeting Mike. Meanwhile, the treacherous Sheik Ibrahim, second in command to Sheik David, conspires with the sinister Nazi agent Yussof Streyer to assassinate David, jeopardizing his fruitful alliance with the British. In a race against time, Mike and Nancy journey to David's camp, narrowly escaping Ibrahim's ruthless henchmen, and return to El Moktar, bracing themselves for the looming Arab onslaught on the garrison. In the shifting sands of deception, alliances, and courage, lies the fate of a Yank in Libya.
