In the heart of the baseball world, echoes the name of Gorou Shigeno, a legend in his own right. His son, Daigo, fuelled by the desire to emulate his father's glory, steps onto the field as a member of the Mifune Dolphins, the same little league team that his father once played for. But life throws a curveball at Daigo. His dreams of stardom are quickly overshadowed by his apparent lack of inherent talent and baseball acumen. His confidence shatters under the immense pressure of his father's legacy, leading him to abandon the team in less than a year. Fast forward two years, Daigo, now a sixth-grader, meets Hikaru, a transfer student who happens to be the son of Gorou's old friend and fellow baseball maestro, Toshiya Satou. The world of baseball takes an unexpected turn when Daigo is reluctantly dragged back into a game by his mother. He finds himself standing shoulder to shoulder with the unanticipated Hikaru, a rookie who, despite his father's profession, has never played baseball before. The surprises don't stop there, as Hikaru, unlike Daigo, exhibits a natural flair for the sport from his very first swing. A stark contrast to Daigo, Hikaru's immediate knack for the game sets them on diverging paths. Yet, their differences serve as a catalyst, propelling these two novices towards the same destination their fathers held dear - the exhilarating world of baseball.
