Young and Innocent (1937)

Amidst the crashing waves and soft sand of a serene beach, the lifeless body of a renowned actress is discovered by her ex-beau, Robert Tisdall. A violent argument with her spouse, sparked by his jealousy over her youthful paramours, had marked her last night. Tisdall, a writer and one of these young lovers, finds himself ensnared in a web of suspicion and accusation. The fleeting image of him with the body etched in the minds of two witnesses leads to his arrest for a crime he didn't commit. However, a twist of fate at the courthouse provides Tisdall an opportunity to escape, and he seizes it. His unlikely accomplice in this daring getaway is Erica Burgoyne, the quick-witted daughter of a Police Constable. Initially doubtful of his innocence, Erica is nonetheless drawn towards Tisdall's desperate plea for justice.
