Plot

In the heart of 1950s Italy, on the cusp of a ban on brothels, we find Mimma, a naïve country girl with dreams bigger than her small-town life. As the winds of change start to blow, Mimma reluctantly steps into the risqué world of prostitution to financially assist her aimless boyfriend. Over time, she sheds the innocence of Mimma and blossoms into Paprika, a name given to her by the brothel's madam, symbolizing her transformation. Her journey is one of trials and tribulations, a roller-coaster ride through the colorful underbelly of Rome's nightlife. Starting from the bottom, Paprika learns to thrive in her newfound occupation, moving from brothel to brothel, and climbing the societal ladder one client at a time. As she delves deeper into this disreputable yet lucrative profession, Paprika embarks on a tempestuous voyage of self-discovery, experience, and sexual liberation. Yet, amidst the whirlwind of her prosperous yet turbulent life, Paprika finds herself grappling with an elusive puzzle - the profound mystery of true love. Will she find passionate romance in this unlikely setting? Or is her fate entwined with the intoxicating allure of Rome's red-light district? As the city pulsates around her, Paprika's tale becomes a mesmerizing exploration of love, loss, and survival in a world on the brink of transformation.
