18 Wheels of Justice (2000)

In the labyrinth of justice, Michael Cates serves as a devoted agent for the Justice Department, stepping into the shadowy underworld of the formidable crime lord, Jacob Calder. After witnessing Calder's cold-blooded act of murder, Cates becomes instrumental in bringing the ruthless kingpin to trial and securing his conviction. However, Calder's venomous vendetta ensnares Cates in a deadly game of cat and mouse, leading to a contract being placed on his life. In a desperate twist of fate, the hitman's bullet misses Cates, tragically finding his wife and daughter instead. Cates' superior, Burton Hardesty, crafts an elaborate ruse to keep him safe, transforming him into Chance Bowman, a nomadic trucker crisscrossing the country. Yet, Cates cannot shake his inherent drive for justice and finds himself entwined in the lives of those he crosses paths with, many of whom seem to be pawns in Calder's intricate web of crime. As Cates becomes more entangled, Calder catches wind of his disguise, sending his henchmen on a relentless pursuit or offering his bounty to anyone who can unmask the elusive trucker. Thus, Cates navigates a perilous landscape of highway intrigue and small-town dramas, all while battling his personal demons and staying one step ahead of Calder's relentless retribution.
