Plot

Four spirited co-eds from Penmore University, Merritt, Melanie, Tuggle, and Angie, flee the stifling mid-western snow for a spring break adventure in the sun-drenched playground of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Their journey is not solely driven by the promise of a sun-soaked vacation but a quest to find where the boys are, their hearts pulsating with youthful dreams and romantic aspirations. Towering at 5'10½", Tuggle seeks a mate who won't be dwarfed by her stature and views herself as a potential "baby-making factory" – but only within the confines of matrimony. She encounters a tall, eccentric character named TV, whose dreams of a television career are matched only by his fascination with the opposite sex, testing Tuggle's traditional values. Angie, the tomboy with an often sidelined presence, finds herself tangled with Basil, a peculiar musician. Their connection is more a result of circumstance than desire, but Angie ventures to discover common ground with her unconventional suitor. Melanie, the quintessential romantic, yearns to be swept away by an Ivy League prince charming. Her wish seemingly comes true when she crosses paths with a group of Yale boys, only to realize that spring break romance in Fort Lauderdale might not be the fairy tale she's dreamt of. The intellectually bright yet academically challenged Merritt harbors progressive views on relationships, advocating for cohabitation before marriage and premarital love. Her beliefs are put to the test when the affluent Ryder Smith, an Ivy Leaguer from Brown, enters her life. "Where the Boys Are" is an episodic tale of adventures, romance, and self-discovery. As these four girls navigate the labyrinth of love, their spring break in Florida becomes an unforgettable journey, etching indelible impressions on their hearts.
