Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant (2009)

Darren Shan is an exceptional young man by any standards — loved by his family as the golden child and an exceptional student at school. But when he sneaks off with his irresponsible friend Steve to the carnival, he meets the main attraction — an actual vampire. Larten Crepsley is a flamboyant performer, but Darren is forced into working for him when his spider bites Steve. Steve will face a fate worse than death if he doesn't receive an antidote, but Darren has no way what that antidote looks like. He agrees to become the vampire's assistant in return for the formula.
