In the high seas comedy, Welcome Aboard (2011), Isabelle (Valerie Lemercier), the resourceful HR head of a prestigious cruise line, finds herself stranded in the throes of heartbreak after her boss, and clandestine lover, abruptly anchors their romance. Fuelled by a potent cocktail of betrayal and vengeance, Isabelle doesn't opt for the conventional path of poison, firearm, or rumor. Instead, she enlists the help of Remy (Franck Dubosc), a vivaciously eccentric, down-on-his-luck landlubber who might just find his sea legs in this salty saga of payback. As the newly minted puppet master of her retaliatory scheme, Remy is thrust aboard the gleaming jewel of the company's fleet, on its maiden voyage no less. Initially, he emerges as the living nightmare for both the unsuspecting CEO and the perturbed Cruise Director, Richard (Gerard Darmon). Yet, as sparkling waves crash against the ship's hull and the journey unfolds, Remy subtly transforms. He gradually morphs from a chaotic whirlwind into a life-altering tempest, reshaping not only his own destiny but also touching the lives of those who cross his unpredictable path on this floating palace.
