In the sleepy shadow of a formidable nuclear power plant, resides Dawn, a high-schooler caught in the throes of adolescence. Raised amidst the complexities of a dysfunctional family, including her ailing mother, distant stepfather, and abrasive stepbrother, her life is anything but simple. Her world takes a curious turn when she discovers a peculiar "adaptation", a potential curse hidden within her, brought to light during a biology class on evolution. In a pursuit of purity and virtue, Dawn embraces the tenets of "The Promise O", a local group advocating for chastity until marriage. The arrival of Tobey, a newcomer to her school, stirs unfamiliar feelings within her. Despite their mutual pledge to remain chaste, the fervor of teenage hormones and the allure of forbidden attraction tempts them, and their innocent relationship spins into an uncharted territory.
