Plot

As the weekend beckons, Russell, a reserved lifeguard, frees himself from the mundane house party hosted by his straight friend Jamie, under the pretext of a morning shift that awaits him. However, the tranquility of his apartment is not his destination; instead, he dives into the vibrant chaos of a gay club. There, amidst the pulsating music and swirling lights, he crosses paths with Glen, an art gallery employee by day and an aspiring artist by night. In a haze of intoxication, they find themselves entwined in Russell's apartment, their connection as profound as it is unexpected. As dawn breaks, they begin to peel back the layers of their personalities, discovering the stark contrasts in their outlooks on life. Glen, openly expressive about his sexuality, dreads the idea of being tied down to a relationship. Russell, on the other hand, is more discreet about his orientation, yet yearns for love, companionship, and eventual marriage. Their fleeting liaison is further complicated when Glen drops a bombshell, revealing circumstances that threaten to obliterate any hope of a long-term future together. Despite this, the spark between them refuses to die out, leaving them with the dilemma of how to spend their remaining time together over the course of the weekend. Weekend is an intimate and forthright exploration of an unexpected love story between two men. It's a film that transcends the typical and delves into the universal quest for authenticity in all aspects of life. It captures the tumultuous journey of discovering one's identity, and the crucial importance of making a zealous commitment to live passionately. Through the whirlwind of bar hopping, bedroom confessions, intoxication, and unfiltered conversations, Russell and Glen form an extraordinary bond, a brief encounter that echoes throughout the corridors of their lives.
