Plot

In the heart of America, Megan, a cheerleader par excellence, leads a seemingly perfect life. She's got the handsome captain of the football team on her arm, but her heart seems to flutter for a different tune. She finds herself repelled by her boyfriend's kisses, her locker and room are adorned with posters of girls, and the soulful melodies of Melissa Etheridge seem to stir something within her. These abnormal preferences fuel a suspicion - could the quintessential American girl be a lesbian? Driven by concern and societal expectations, her parents and friends decide to send Megan to True Directions, a controversial camp designed to "cure" homosexuality. This place, run by the eccentric Mary and "reformed" gay counselor Mike, is filled with colorful characters, all grappling with their sexual identities, just like her. In this strange new world, Megan's journey of self-discovery takes a dramatic turn when she crosses paths with the enchanting Graham. Will Megan follow the path laid out for her by True Directions, embracing a heteronormative lifestyle, or will she surrender to the intoxicating pull of her feelings towards Graham? This compelling tale of identity, acceptance, and love will keep you on the edge of your seat, questioning what it truly means to be yourself.
