A musician and woe-is-me young man, Peter, cannot fathom why his girlfriend of five years, Sarah Marshall, dumped him. After crying, moping around and wondering why this famous celebrity does not want to be with him anymore, his stepbrother suggests that they both need a vacation. Once they end up in Oahu, Peter comes across Sarah and her name flame. At the same time, she also catches the eye of a kind and pretty hotel clerk. Who will he end up with, and what will happen to the other woman?
