It's eight years into America's conflict with Iraq, and most people understand that practically any notion of winning the war. The exception is General Glen McMahon — an old school military man who believes in shooting first and asking questions later. Cocky and idiosyncratic, he has a plan to grab the reins and achieve conditions of victory among the political and military quagmire of the war. McMahon is surrounded by complicit sycophants, but others outside his orbit worry that his plan is reckless and could cause more harm than good. And when a journalist sets his sights on McMahon's plan, all of his ambitions are suddenly placed in jeopardy.
