Plot
Carrie White, a painfully shy High School Senior in the small town of Castle Rock, Maine, has been an outcast from the time of her birth. Abused physically and verbally at home by her religiously fanatic mother, Margaret White, and the persistent bullying by a group of popular girls at school, she discovered an ability to move objects with her mind. After Carrie had a particularly humiliating experience at the hands of the ringleader of her bullies, Chris Hargensen, Sue Snell, one of the popular girls, felt guilty about the incident and asked her boyfriend, Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom instead of her. After accepting the invitation, and on the night of the dance, it seemed as though Carrie's life started to turn around for her. However, Hargensen had one last humiliating moment planned for Carrie on her most memorable night.
