Plot

Nestled in Greenwich Village stands the century-old Angelini's, a family-owned business renowned for crafting bespoke wedding shoes by hand. Currently under the stewardship of Teodora Angelini, the widowed daughter of the founder, the company's future lies in the hands of Valentine Roncalli, Teodora's granddaughter and chief designer. The pair share a deep-rooted love for their heritage, residing above the shop and cherishing every detail, from the antiquated workspace to the charming rooftop garden. Valentine, unlike her three siblings, remains single, dedicating herself to work and embracing her role as the "funny" one. The business, however, is financially sinking, trapped in the past while the modern world sweeps past. Alfred Roncalli, Valentine's brother, insists they sell the valuable property and shutter the business, an idea fiercely resisted by Valentine and Teodora. Their fortunes might change when Rhedd Lewis, an influential buyer for high-end boutiques, discovers one of Valentine's designs. She invites Valentine to participate in a competition against major shoe companies to design a pair of shoes for a wedding gown, with the winner gaining a coveted spot in the boutique window. Simultaneously, Valentine's personal life takes an unexpected turn when Roman Falcone, a rising star in the culinary world, expresses his interest in her. His quickness to envision a long-term future together leaves Valentine questioning if she can trust him, especially upon learning about his past relationship with his publicist, Sienna Rutledge. As Valentine navigates these challenges, Teodora invites her on a customary trip to Italy to meet suppliers and seek inspiration. This journey might unveil Teodora's secretive reasons for her solitary travels and could potentially reveal an alternate path for both Valentine and her grandmother's future. The tale of Very Valentine interweaves the struggles of preserving tradition with the pressures of modernity and love, creating a heartwarming narrative about family, passion, and self-discovery.
