In the opulent courts of 18th-century France, the intricate dance of desire and deception unfolds between the Marquise de Merteuil and the Vicomte de Valmont, two former lovers who revel in the rich tapestry of sexual manipulation. Valmont, a notorious libertine, pursues conquests as a means of self-affirmation, while Merteuil employs the same tactics as a weapon in her battle for equality amidst the stifling gender inequalities of their class.
