Plot
In the sprawling maze of Chennai's slums, Balaji (Muthukumar) carves out a life of resilience and responsibility. After his mother's demise and his father Jothi's (Shimmore) descent into the clutches of alcohol, Balaji devotes himself to securing a decent life for his younger brother Karthik (Nani). An aspiring engineering student, Karthik navigates his life alongside his close friend Vishnu (Evam Karthik), a fellow resident of the slum. Amidst the chaos, Revathy (Nithya Menen), a local girl, harbors a desperate love for Karthik.
Simultaneously, Jothi, their estranged father, plunges into the underworld, serving as a pawn in the hands of Ammaji (Jennifer), a notorious drug lord. Discovering Vishnu's hidden affection for Viji (Bindhu Madhavi), a call girl from the neighborhood, Jothi hatches a scheme for his own benefit. He manipulates Vishnu into a risky endeavor of transporting drugs to Pondicherry, with Viji as the promised prize. Unaware of the impending peril, Vishnu seeks Karthik's assistance and embarks on the dangerous journey.
On reaching Pondicherry, a suspicion begins to gnaw at Vishnu, prompting an abrupt return to Chennai. The ensuing course of events forms the riveting crux of 'Veppam', a tale of survival, deceit, and unexpected alliances in the heart of Chennai's slums.
