Elite Squad (2007)

It's 1997, and the Pope has decided to visit Rio De Janeiro. In preparation for the Pope's arrival, Captain Nascimento is put in charge of locking down security measures for the visit. That means leaning hard onto the vicious gangsters and cartels that ran roughshod over the decrepit favelas. At the same time, Nascimento is looking for someone who can replace him, as his wife is pregnant and he's worried for her family's safety. Two young men each show promise as a potential replacement, but they could also pose their own distinct dangers in a police force that's rife with corruption.
