Tormented (2011)

In the unsettling world of 'Tormented', young Daigo, haunted by the death of an injured rabbit, withdraws from the ordinary world and stops attending school. His older half-sister, Kiriko, a dedicated librarian, steps in as his tutor, trying to fill the gap left by their aloof father, Kohei, a distant book illustrator. One fateful day, Kiriko accompanies Daigo to the cinema to witness a 3-D spectacle, "The Shock Labyrinth". Unexpectedly, Daigo captures a rabbit that leaps out from the screen, blurring the line between fiction and reality. This peculiar incident triggers a series of nightmarish visions for Daigo, characterized by a towering, menacing rabbit. One chilling night, Kiriko follows Daigo into his dreamscape, only to confront the horrifying suspicion that their mother, Kyoko, may be assaulting him while cloaked in a rabbit costume. Now, Daigo has vanished into the abyss of his nightmares. Kiriko must brave this terrifying world, navigating the labyrinth of her brother's fears, to unearth the truth and save him from his torment. 'Tormented' is a haunting journey into the disturbing realms of fear, family bonds, and the power of the subconscious.
