In the vibrant metropolis of Montréal, Carl's life is trapped on a treadmill of monotony. He is a cog in the machine of a video game design company, his career stagnated with a promotion perpetually dangling just out of his reach. His marriage to Sue, his wife of several years, is also running on fumes, their once vibrant intimacy now reduced to a mechanical routine. Hoping to reignite the spark in their relationship, Carl concocts a plan for a romantic weekend ski getaway at the idyllic Auberge au Coeur Sauvage, a quaint bed and breakfast lodge nestled in the snowy embrace of the Laurentians. Unbeknownst to Sue, this isn't just any locale; it's a place steeped in fragmentary memories of a past romance for Carl, a sanctuary where he spent blissful moments with another woman. The surprise stings even more when they arrive and find that the lodge is now managed by Robyn, Carl's ex-flame.
