Plot

In the languid heat of a La Ciotat summer, the once-thriving dockyard town near Marseille, a weighty pallor of despair hangs in the air, a remnant of the bustling dockyard's closure a quarter of a century ago. A writing workshop emerges from this melancholic backdrop, serving as a beacon of hope for seven young adults striving to navigate their way into the working world. Guided by the renowned novelist Olivia Dejazet, they are tasked with crafting a noir narrative intertwined with the industrial echoes of their hometown. Among them, a boy named Antoine begins to distinguish himself, though not necessarily for the better. His confrontational demeanor and incessant contrariness, particularly towards Olivia, earn him a notorious reputation. However, it's his chillingly detailed account of a mass murder, narrated from the unsettling perspective of the executioner, that truly sets him apart. His unnerving comprehension of the murderer's mind sends shivers down the spines of his peers. This alarming revelation triggers a complex emotion within Olivia: a dance between fascination and dread towards Antoine. The undercurrents of their interactions, combined with the haunting narrative that Antoine weaves, swirl together into a captivating, troubling tale that tugs at the boundaries of comfort and understanding.
