Equilibrium (2002)

Emotions lead to conflict, war and death. To save humanity, the government has banned emotions and the art, books and music that could cause them. Cleric John Preston's sacred duty is to enforce this ban by hunting down the Sense Offenders who insist on disturbing the world's fragile peace. One day, Preston misses his dose of the mandatory emotion-suppressing drug and experiences the worst thing possible when destroying a work of art: A feeling. Now he must choose between the orderly government he's served his entire life or the chaotic mess of the underground movement.
