Plot

In the nostalgic glow of retrospect, Jefferson Roth spins a tale of rebellion, romance, and retribution during the closing weeks of her senior year at a secluded Wisconsin boarding school. Alongside her two companions - the wide-eyed Lisa and the audacious Karen, Jefferson brandishes a pistol as a symbol of empowerment against the testosterone-charged boys who view them as mere objects of desire. They engineer a shocking counterattack on David, a boy whose fluctuating affections for Lisa have left her emotionally bruised. In the midst of their defiant crusade, the trio continues their ceaseless search for love. Jefferson finds herself falling for a rugged cowboy singer, disregarding the affections of Jeremy, a boy from her past who harbors feelings for her. Lisa, in her pursuit of love, makes another attempt to capture David's heart, while Karen, the most daring of them all, tempts fate with an older man. The Smokers paints an unflinching portrait of youthful rebellion and the desperate search for love, posing the burning question - can such a volatile mixture of love and revenge ever lead to a happy ending?
