Plot

Renowned author Bernard finds himself pulled to a quaint town nestled by a lake, a cherished sanctuary away from the clamor of his fame. Out of season, in the heart of winter, he checks into an antiquated hotel, the domain of Enrico and his daughter Irma. His mind throbs with anticipation of a reunion with Tilde, the modest maid who sparked an unspoken affection during his previous visit. Upon his arrival, a shroud of tragedy engulfs the tranquil town. Tilde, he learns, has taken her own life, leaving behind whispers of an unborn child. The news, delivered by a local photographer, jolts Bernard, his infatuation transforming into an obsession. Was it truly suicide, or are there veiled truths hidden in the town's icy silence? The plot thickens with the arrival of Enrico's son Mario and his wife Adriana at the hotel. As Bernard delves deeper into the mystery, the line between reality and imagination begins to blur. He is caught in a captivating daydream, a kaleidoscope of what-ifs and could-have-beens about Tilde’s fate. "The Possessed" is a chilling intertwining of love, loss, and obsession. It pulls the viewer into a labyrinth where the truth is as elusive as the winter fog, and every revelation only deepens the mystery.
