Plot

In this perplexing tale, we follow the charismatic globe-trotter, Barry Wilding (Leslie Fenton), who finds himself drawn towards the enchanting Julie Kenmore (Muriel Evans) during a ship voyage across the English Channel. Despite her mysterious reluctance to share her identity, Barry's fascination with her leads him on a quest to locate her in bustling London. Unexpectedly, his journey takes a detour when he is summoned to a legal chamber, where he learns of an unexpected inheritance - a grand estate known as "The Hawk's Nest" located on the outskirts of the city. The catch? He must vow never to sell this property. Upon arrival at his new abode, he is met with hostility from unwelcome trespassers who have claimed his property as their own. Despite facing enticing offers to sell the estate and unnerving warnings to leave England, Barry remains steadfast in his refusal to do either. The plot thickens when the elusive Julie resurfaces, now revealing that she resides at "The Hawk's Nest" with her father, Dr. Kenmore (Morgan Wallace). She insists that they must remain undisturbed for six months, leaving Barry in a quandary. Yet, the resilient Barry, undeterred by the numerous attacks from ruthless American gangsters, and the inexplicable apathy from Scotland Yard, is resolute to unearth the enigma surrounding his inheritance. As Barry delves deeper into the labyrinth of mysteries, he is led towards an astonishing and unexpected climax. This unusual tale of intrigue and suspense is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
