The Awakening (2011)

In 1921 England, Florence Cathcart is the author of popular books about exposing fraudulent cases of ghost hauntings and paranormal phenomena. Her reputation attracts the attention of a school headmaster in remote Cumbria. It seems his school is haunted by the ghost of a child. He asks Florence to come out and get to the bottom of the haunting and possibly expose it as a hoax. Florence reluctantly agrees, but when she gets to the castle-like school building, she finds strange happenings that seem impossible to explain as she gets drawn ever deeper into a frightening supernatural world.
