Plot

As the Korean War teeters on the brink of ceasefire, the Eastern front line, nestled in the rugged terrain of the Aerok Hills, remains a battlefield. The grand prize is a strategic stronghold that could alter the new boundary between the two Koreas. But, amidst this chaos, an intriguing mystery unfolds. A South Korean company commander is found dead, a bullet from his own army lodged in his body. The task of unravelling this enigma falls on the shoulders of Kang Eun-Pyo, a sharp Lieutenant from the Defense Security Command. Eun-Pyo's arrival in the Aerok Hills comes with a startling surprise. Against all odds, his old friend, Kim Soo-Hyeok, thought to have been lost to the war, is alive. Once a timid student, Soo-Hyeok now commands troops as the leader of the Aerok company. His presence, coupled with an array of oddities including soldiers clad in North Korean uniforms to fend off the chill, and a young 20-year-old helming a captain's role, sets off alarm bells in Eun-Pyo's mind. As the countdown to the ceasefire ticks away, and the toll of human lives rises, Eun-Pyo finds himself in a labyrinth of secrets and lies. He must untangle the threads of this mystery amidst the roar of artillery and the shadow of imminent peace. In the heart of the Aerok Hills, the line between friend and foe blurs, leaving Eun-Pyo in a chilling game where every revelation could be lethal.
