Plot

In the shadowy realm of the ancient Mortal Kombat tournament, a fierce group of Earth's warriors have emerged victorious. Led by the indomitable Liu Kang, they have defeated the formidable sorcerer Shang Tsung, ensuring the Earth's peace and safety for another generation. However, this hard-won tranquility is short-lived. As the dust settles from their previous victory, a dark portal opens, spewing forth nefarious forces from a terrifying dimension - the Outworld. Directed by the ruthless Shao Kahn and his dreaded generals - Motaro, Rain, Ermac, Sheeva, and Sindel, this malevolent army invades Earth, intent on wreaking unparalleled havoc. Their nightmarish objective is as chilling as the realm they hail from - the complete and utter extinction of humanity. With the Earth realm teetering on the brink of merging with the Outworld, the clock is ticking. Liu Kang, along with his stalwart allies - Raiden, Jax, Sonya, and Kitana - must rise to the challenge once more. This band of martial arts warriors, Earth's last line of defense, has a mere six days to thwart Shao Kahn's deadly plan and save their world from total annihilation. This pulse-pounding sequel picks up where the first movie left off, plunging the heroes into a high-stakes battle against time and terror. The fate of their world hangs in the balance, and they are all that stands between life and devastating annihilation. Will they be victorious, or will Earth fall under the shadow of the Outworld? The battle for survival begins in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.
