In the tranquil town of Fort Dundas, Ontario, the police department's seasoned officer Hazel Micallef leads a life of desolate solitude, burdened by a past suicide attempt and a relentless back injury. Her self-medicated existence is punctuated by her responsibilities as the acting Commanding Officer, a role marred by the vacant seat of a predecessor.
