In the opulent world of the Morgans, a wealthy household presided over by the self-absorbed businessman John Morgan and his socialite wife, Evelyn, life is dictated by status and rules. Their thirteen-year-old daughter, Roberta Morgan, is caught in the crossfire of parental neglect and strict household regulations, enforced with an iron hand by the stern governess Anna and the unyielding butler Jenkins.
