Thomas Magnum is a private investigator working out of Oahu, Hawaii. The Hawaii lifestyle is great and has plenty of lazy opportunities, but the intrigues of murder keep him on his toes and out in the field. Magnum lives on an estate of a multi-millionaire and has everything he could ever want without having to pay for much as a retired member of the U.S Navy.
