The Believer (2021)

In the heart of the gripping thriller, The Believer (2021), we meet Lucas, a downtrodden nuclear scientist grappling with unemployment and a marriage teetering on the edge of destruction. His wife, Violet, throws their life further into chaos when she abruptly ends her pregnancy without Lucas' knowledge, igniting a turmoil that leads Lucas on a spiraling descent into the abyss of physical and mental deterioration. As Lucas battles a mysterious illness that defies explanation, Violet's behavior transforms into a perplexing enigma, intensifying Lucas' unease. His search for understanding leads him to the office of his therapist, Dr. Benedict, who despite his best efforts, seems to only fuel Lucas' confusion rather than quell it.
