Plot

In the quiet town of Suddenly, anticipation hums in the air as the President of the United States is expected to arrive by train, before being whisked off to a nearby lodge. The responsibility of maintaining peace and order falls on the broad shoulders of Sheriff Tod Shaw, who, in a delicate balance of authority and vulnerability, is also trying to win the heart of pacifist widow, Ellen Benson. For Ellen, the echoes of gunfire are too loud in her past and she shuns those who carry the weight of a weapon. But the calm of Suddenly is about to be shattered. John Baron, a man with a terrifyingly tranquil demeanor and a mind wired for violence, infiltrates the Benson household. Posing as an FBI agent, he holds the house hostage, turning this sanctuary into a strategic spot for an unthinkable act - the assassination of the President. With the house providing a chillingly perfect vantage point overlooking the train station, Baron, with no political agenda but a cold-hearted contract to fulfill, prepares for the deadly deed. As the clock ticks down, it's up to the conflicted Sheriff, the pacifist Ellen, and her father-in-law, Pop Benson, to stop this maniacal hired killer. The tranquility of Suddenly hangs in the balance, and one house holds the key to either preserving peace or plunging the town into an abyss of chaos.
