5 Centimeters per Second (2007)

The friendship between Akari and Takaki remains a wistfully treasured memory for both even as the indifference of time pulls them apart from one another. The two initially meet in elementary school but struggle to keep in touch with one another when Akari's family moves to a new city. While both try to maintain that relationship, that distance only expands. There's no promise that the two will ever meet again, but there's another possibility that's potentially even more worrying. As the two begin to take on adult responsibilities and obligations, is it possible that they'll meet and barely even recognize one another?
