Plot

The day after celebrating his fortieth birthday, George Grieves, a successful IT consultant and devoted family man, ventures into the sterile confines of Mt. Abaddon Hospital for what should be a routine colonoscopy. However, the jovial atmosphere of his birthday party is marred by chilling tales of medical malpractice, leaving George under a cloud of anxiety. This unease turns into a nightmarish reality when his surgery spirals into a catastrophic error due to a patient with a similar name, leaving George with a thoracoscopic sympathectomy rather than his intended procedure. As George grapples with his physical trauma and the hospital’s blunder, he descends into a labyrinth of paranoia and grim revelations. The once tranquil hospital corridors become a phantasmagorical landscape where he uncovers the dark secrets lurking in the East Wing. These disturbing discoveries threaten to shatter his sanity, plunging him into a realm of suicidal fear, or are they just the product of his fractured psyche? Meanwhile, George's family, absorbed in their individual concerns, seem blissfully unaware of his escalating torment. His son Ned, engrossed in his documentary project on the hospital ward, finds himself battling against the medical and administrative authorities. The family must confront the unsettling reality of George's condition and make a heart-wrenching decision about his fate. In the sterile world of Mt. Abaddon Hospital, a routine procedure transforms into a haunting journey, where the line between reality and delusion becomes frighteningly blurred. Sublime is a chilling exploration of medical horror, family dynamics, and the fragility of the human mind.
