Within the confines of her own imagination, the timid Brenda Thompson finds solace, crafting innocent tales for children. Trapped in an unfulfilling existence in Liverpool, she weaves a web of lies, painting a picture of pregnancy, and escapes to London. Here, she finds employment in a chic boutique and shares a roof with Caroline, a woman of loose morals, yet a heart of gold. However, Brenda's plain-Jane appearance alienates her from the fashionable crowd. A peculiar turn of events leads her to kidnap a peculiar young man's dog, hoping to strike a connection while returning the lost pet. This young man, Peter, is a charming enigma with a twisted penchant for annihilating beauty. He rechristens Brenda as Wendy, marking the birth of an unconventional, yet promising relationship. But lurking in the shadows of this budding romance are Peter's sinister secrets, threatening to shatter their fragile love story.
